Manual Babylon Search Removal

Important Note: Babylon Search can be removed manually, however any mistakes can lead your PC to permanent damage of the system. Therefore a manual removal process is highly recommended for IT experts and system administrators. For regular users, team recommends using SpyHunter or any other reputable security application.

Google Chrome

1. Fix Google Chrome startup pages.

Click on 3-bars icon and choose Settings. In On startup click Set pages and remove by clicking X symbol. After that, add your desired homepage.

2. Remove from the homepage settings.

Click on 3-bars icon and choose Settings. In Appearance section click on Change. Remove the malicious homepage by clicking X symbol. Then you can add the desired homepage by entering its URL and hitting OK.

3. Remove from the search engine list and set a one.

Click on 3-bars icon and choose Settings. In Search section click on Manage search engines.. button. Choose the legitimate default search engine as default by clicking Make default. Then remove the malicious search engine from the list.

4. Remove add-ons that are associated with malware

Click on 3-bars icon and choose Tools. Go to Extensions and delete all add-ons related to from the list.

Internet Explorer

1. Remove from homepage settings.

Click on Tools icon and choose Internet Options. In General tab replace the hijacked homepage with a desired URL like Then click Apply to complete the action.

2. Modify default search provider settings, also remove the malicious search provider.

Click on Tools icon and choose Manage Add-ons. In Search Providers section please choose to set a legitimate search provider as default by clicking Set as default button. Then remove the malicious search provider from the list.

1. Remove from homepage settings.

Go to Options > General tab. Replace the malicious homepage with a preferred URL and click OK.

2. Perform “about:config” function to revert Firefox changed items.

Type about:config into the address bar and press Enter. Then accept the warning.

Search for in the search field. Then right-click on each founded item and select Reset.

3. Remove from the search engines list.

Click on the current search engine icon and choose Manage Search Engines.. Select the malicious URL and click Remove, then hit OK to complete the action.

Delete malicious apps and directories

Review your Add/Remove Programs list in Control Panel (Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs). In the list search for apps related to Babylon Search. Then choose ‘Uninstall’.

Search for and delete any folder related to “Babylon Search” if found in the following directories:

  • %ProgramFiles%
  • %AppData%
  • %ProgramData%
  • %LocalAppData%

Besides posting asinine comments such as, “please delete babylon–search from my computer” doesn’t help your cause in any way. Why? Because they cannot physically go into your computer.

    I installed Spyhunter 4 and found 773+ and the scan is still going. I also found that something called Trojan.Ransomlock.N is a 5/5 risk rating and can control your computer! I will get rid of that then!
