Get-search.com Virus Removal Guide

Get-search.com virus is a malicious program categorized as a browser hijacker. All popular internet browsers such as IE, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox are vulnerable to this infection. Get-search.com virus is usually distributed bundled with all sorts of free software. Once the browser is infected you will notice that the default search engine and homepage are changed. Get-search.com often redirects users to domains owned by suspicious third parties, and this might result in serious damage.

Get-search virus

Get-search.com virus gathers information about browsing habits and search queries, each time a user is using an infected internet browser. Later, the collected data might be sold to third parties, which will use it to create user specific ads. The promoted domain Get-search.com is not only useless as a search engine, it might also lead the user to potentially dangerous websites. The search results provided by the infamous engine are filled with ads and sponsored links. The website uses this kind of policy because the developers of Get-search.com are paid after each click on those ads or links.

Unfortunately, the removal process of Get-search.com virus is not an easy task. Simple uninstallation won‘t solve the problem as Get-search.com will remain as the default search engine and homepage. It is much easier to avoid the Get-search.com virus than to fight against it. Users must know a few simple rules which will prevent them from similar problems in the future. Firstly, they should be extra cautious when installing freeware as this kind of software is very often associated with malware. Secondly, they should choose Custom installation mode before installing any kind of new software. This will enable them to notice any additional programs which are about to be installed. If a user follows these simple rules, the risk of catching an unwanted program will be reduced to the minimum.
